I decided that Jomar and Priscilla are some of the sweetest/cutest humans! They were up for anything during our shoot at Sekrit Theater - Jomar was a good sport and let Priscilla wrap him in lights.
The story of how these clients found me is one as old as time- the world is so small. As some of you know, I grew up in Wall and went to Angelo State University in San Angelo. I graduated with eighty-something people and feel like I knew a lot of people in other grades as well, going to a small school and living in a small town, that’s normal. One day in college, I don’t remember the class but remember it was on the third floor of the Porter Henderson Library, this guy walks into the classroom and I automatically know that I know him. I’m pretty good with remembering faces, but not names, so I’m racking my brain for how I could know him. When I ask him about it he tells me his name is Jomar and he’s from Arizona so then I start to doubt myself. Days later (not sure timeframe) I am still trying to figure it out and decided to go through a few yearbooks, mind you, I went to Wall kindergarten through twelfth grade so I started at kindergarten and worked my way up. It didn’t take long to figure out that this mystery guy in my college class had attended Wall in his early elementary days! I came back to class and told him I knew that I knew him from somewhere (but honestly was also a little freaked out by my own memory.)
Fast forward several years (just a few weeks ago) and I am grabbing a latte from Xertz Coffee in San Angelo on my way back home to Austin and Jomar sticks his head out and says hi! We start talking and he tells me that he owns the place and that he just got engaged and needs photos! So this has all come full circle and I was able to photograph this sweet couple at Sekrit Theater just a few weeks before Christmas.
Jomar and his fiancé, Priscilla, met through mutual friends and have been dating for three years. Priscilla is from Snyder, TX and Jomar is from Sierra Vista, Arizona. The two are super sweet together and you can tell how much they love each other just after talking to them for a few minutes. Jomar says his favorite thing about Priscilla is her smile, it’s the first thing that he noticed when he met her. Priscilla says she loves Jomar’s little dimple on his left cheek and his big brown eyes that provide warmth whenever he looks at her. (Is that sweet or what?)
The couple got engaged in Hawaii (!!!) on their last day they had reservations for dinner at a restaurant called “Duke’s”. While the Hawaii sun was setting over the water, they waited on their dessert, soaking in the last moments of their trip. Dessert arrived on a platter that said, “Will You Marry Me?” with a beautiful ring in the middle. Jomar got down on one knee and asked her again. Needless to say- Priscilla ugly cried! (Who wouldn’t?)
Jomar has a hard-working entrepreneur spirit, running two businesses, an event rental company, and Xertz Coffee shop. Priscilla helps Jomar with the coffee shop and enjoys working alongside him. The two love grabbing dinner and watching movies together and are so excited to tie the knot on December 22, 2022.
