I have to start this blog off by saying how excited I am to be photographing people again- I was definitely going a little crazy in quarentine. I am also SO happy that Austin is in a good spot with less COVID-19 cases and people are being safe and staying home when they aren’t feeling well. My condolenses to anyone who knows someone or lost someone that has suffered from COVID-19.
My first session out of quarantine was a maternity session (one of my favorite things to photograph) for Travis and Danielle Korn who are expecting their first child in August. They are going to have a baby girl and are ready for her to be here!
I first met Danielle a few years ago at a mutual friend’s bachelorette party and the next time we saw each other we were at a wedding in Mexico, toes in the sand and margaritas in our hands! What a life!
Fast forward to this year and I get an Instagram message from Danielle to find out she is expecting in August! I was honored to receive that message and get to capture this season of life for her and her husband Travis.
We met at Bull Creek for photos the last weekend of May, and there were SO MANY PEOPLE I was a little weary that we wouldn’t find anywhere clear of people, but luckily I found a few spots and have also gotten very good at photoshopping people out of shots since I moved to Austin (haha)! Danielle and Travis were good sports as we took photos amid families grilling hot dogs (which smelled SO good) and Tejano music. To top off the already chaotic situation, two fire trucks and EMS had to come after someone may or may not have fallen in a hole and had to be rescued (never got the full story on this).
I love when clients are adventurous, and Danielle and Travis were just that! They were willing to get in the water and these turned out to be some of my favorite shots of the night. It was a photoshoot I won’t soon forget! Congrats to these expecting parents!
Check out a few from their session below!
