Choosing a venue can be tough! Here are a few tips and places to start when choosing a wedding venue.

1. Choose a venue that is cohesive with your theme; modern, vintage, rustic, etc. How would you have to decorate to make this space align with your theme? Personally, I believe anything you can do to make your wedding day easier and have less to clean up is the way to go! This is why choosing a venue that doesn't need much to captivate the style you're going for is important.
2. Make sure the venue can accommodate your guest list. REMEMBER there will always be a few wedding crashers! I had a fairly large wedding (400 people). The general rule is that 75% of your guest list will come, but with the combination of being from small-town and knowing everyone and getting married on a February weekend when most people weren't busy, more like 425 ended showing up! LUCKILY my venue was huge and could hold that many people.
3. Be realistic with your budget! Are you paying to have a nice meal for everyone? Are you wanting to fill the room with flowers? Have you decided if you want a photographer AND a videographer? Make sure you plan carefully financially so there are no extra expenses or added surprises for your special day.
4. Think about your guests! Are there hotels nearby or maybe does the venue offer some sleeping accommodations? If you plan a wedding where you know a lot of your guests are going to be traveling in from out of town this is an important one. It's also nice to have your wedding party and family close by the day of for last minute things and commuting to and from the venue.
5. What's included with this venue? ASK QUESTIONS! Some wedding venues have certain vendors they prefer to work with and may have some discounts and deals with rentals or caterers that may benefit you! Don't be afraid to ask all of these questions when getting quotes.
