1. Use Real Photos

Real photos on your site will automatically instill integrity and trust in your viewers! No one wants to see all stock photos. Schedule a photoshoot with a local photographer who can come in and take photos of the day-to-day and staff members. Showcasing the faces that are the heart of the company provides authenticity and the content looks much better in return.

2. Showcase Your Work

To piggyback off of the last tip, this is a MUST. Showcase what you do whether that be welding, photography, art, baking- whatever it is your audience wants to see what product they can expect! An easy way to do this is to embed your social media pages on your site so they can pull the most updated photos that you've posted. The kicker there is that you have to actually post!

3. Keep it Consistent

The most important thing from a branding standpoint is to keep it consistent. That means your fonts, colors, logo variations and styles are all cohesive to your brand. Not sure if you're doing this? I suggest creating a branding guide or hiring someone to do this. This helps you stay on-brand with all you do.

See this branding guide for example. You'll notice there are designated fonts for headlines, body text, and main and secondary colors. I personally like to call this a "Branding Bible".

4. Engage Your Audience

Create a call to action when you. This could be offering them a free quote, or a pop-up reminding them that if they sign up for emails they can get a 10% discount. Basically make sure they can find a way to engage with you - whether that is through a form, social media, or a contact button - on every page.

5. Make it Easy for Customers to Contact You

I highly suggest your own contact form and page that links to an email address you check regularly. This page could feature a map or phone number for them to reach out to you as well.
